Fiber Concoction

I started to knit my mohair, wool, and curly horse hair yarn that I spun last summer during the Tour de Fleece. I’ve been waiting to use it, and thought it would be perfect as textile art that I can appreciate forever!

I am very intrigued by the honeycomb design and made it a core part of my textile design. I also hand-spun and naturally dyed Icelandic wool from Trinity Farm. I used Eucalyptus leaves collected from the San Diego area and it gave me a beautiful rustic orange color! I am planning to add soft wool fibers to accent the edges of the piece, and will post an update soon.

Thank you!! 🙂 It was fun to make, it will be interesting to see if the color changes overtime.
